If you are worried now

For breathlessness, chest pain, a swollen painful calf, a treated area turning dark or black, or spreading redness with fever, go to the nearest emergency department immediately rather than waiting for a reply. For anything else, contact your treating team first and say what you have noticed, where it is, and when it started. This website is not an emergency channel and is not monitored as one.

Arranging a revision assessment

A contour concern — a dent, a ridge, a step, an asymmetry, or loose skin — is assessed in the outpatient clinic of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital, 301 Huafu Avenue North Section, Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. Call the outpatient line, or use the channel described on the appointments page, and say that you are asking about a previous liposuction. Be prepared to be asked to wait: the assessment is more useful once the swelling has settled.

What to bring

Bring the operative record if you have one, showing which areas were treated and how much was removed, along with any discharge summary. Bring photographs taken each month since the operation, which show how the shape has changed and are far more informative than a single view. Bring your medication list and say whether you are wearing a compression garment and for how long you were advised to.

What the assessment covers

The areas treated are examined with the record, the skin envelope is assessed for elasticity and for how it drapes, and the specific defect that bothers you is identified by site and by depth. You should leave knowing whether the finding is a correctable irregularity or the shape the tissue has settled into, what correcting it would involve, and when it could be planned.

Fees, records and privacy

This site does not quote prices, because the plan depends on the findings and is discussed directly at consultation. What was found and what was done is documented so that the record follows you. Clinical photographs are taken for planning and follow-up, and are not published or used for teaching without a separate consent you are free to refuse.
